Audio Texture A bit freer and gently experimental than the first album with the percussion and grooves relegated slightly, making a more contemplative, sonically diverse listen to the first album. Another fine effort but a maybe a little surprising to those wanting more of the same. Personally I'm enjoying the ride Favorite track: Arrival LIVE Dubplate Version.

renek Colored like the Cover Album, this Jazz album brills like the sun in Summer... Spring comes... Favorite track: Here to There to Everywhere.

Ed Buckley As I've stated elsewhere, Tamar Osborn writes some excellent music. She is also a superb musician, as is evident on these works. Jazz with afro/Cuban overtones, I find this more to my liking than Instead (and I liked that). The 3 "conversations" have a sort of free form feel to them, although I've no idea if that's actually the case. The title track gets rather raucous, with an almost rock sensibility to it. You also get 2 live versions of tracks 1 and 7.

To follow-on from the acclaimed Collocutor debut LP, 'Instead', Tamar (Collocutor) has written 'The Search' and together with her seven piece ensemble and On the Corner Records are currently in the process of finishing the album to have it released at the end of 2016.

In a recent interview with UK Vibe's Michael Edwards, Tamar shed some light on to the new Collocutor album, 'The Search'.
"The album title refers to searching for a better way to exist in the world, but that could be emotional, spiritual or more simply a move to a geographically different place. The last track is called ‘Arrival’ and hopefully suggests something positive for us to aim for in these unsettled times.
It’s an accidental concept album, the story of a journey. I didn’t start off with the intention of writing an album with a narrative theme, but as the music progressed the compositions naturally fitted together and there seemed to be a continuum between the pieces that developed into this story of a journey with a dark beginning and a hopeful end.

"Collocutor is an opportunity to explore musically all the cultural connections which are part of being a human being, particularly in the 21st century, in somewhere like London, where you do meet everyone from everywhere. If you’re open-minded you’ll have the opportunity to engage with them and find out which bits of each other’s cultures connect and make sense" – Tamar Osborn
