We've teamed up with Soundthread to bring you this track from Obadice & Vivian Paul-Foh, Feat: Keziah Jones, as part of the GidiJand Lagos/London Street Studio Project. Earlier in 2016 Soundthread Producer Sam Jones and Afro-Pop Live turned the streets of Lagos into a recording studio. With the help of the British Council, and in partnership with Goethe-Institute, their GidiJand pop-up recording project was realised. Be it in the markets, traffic intersections, and other public spaces, their portable recording studio was met with wonder, intrigue and excitement.
The GidiJand project gathered musicians, rappers, vocalists, instrumentalists, DJs, and spoken word artists to create a musical journey and give performances in unique spaces around one of Africa’s most vibrant cities, Lagos.
Now, the GidiJand torch will be reignited here in the UK to complete the journey: the ying to the yang, the Jand to the Gidi. In time for the London leg of the project we are releasing this debut production.
More coming....

Wonderful composition, beautifully arranged and performed. Fans of Spiritual Jazz and Eastern-influenced music - you'll probably dig this. Pierre Ringwald
Was looking for tracks to add to a playlist dedicated to International Womens' Day and knowing how good Tenesha is with her lyrics I knew that there would be treasure in her back catalogue, and I found it here. Dangerous Woman and Medea are such strong pieces of music with powerful lyrics and Dangerous Woman will join other tracks from Tenesha the Wordsmith onto the playlists of The Illicit Grooves Radio Show.
